Introduction To The Pages
I have been maintaining these pages since september '96. At that time they did not contain more than half a description of the Eng Field menu. Since then, this spare time hobby has grown larger than I ever dreamed of. Especially with the emulation of test and transfer cards becoming a reality. All these things would not have been possible if it was not for all the people that have helped me in so many different ways. Thank you, everyone that have been so kind to support me.
I would like to point out that even though I keep these pages, I will in no way endorse or recommend motorola phones. My experience with motorola from a consumer point of view are extremely bad. Motorola tries to create an image of phones that last and are the best quality money can buy. "Accelerated Lifetime Testing", "7 Sigma Quality" etc. SALES HYPE ! In my opinion Motorola have had a serious quality problem with the models that I have had personal experience with (from my first 5200 to my cd930) - I do not have any reason to believe that it has gotten any better. As I said, these are my personal experiences, if you have a motorola that works perfectly and survived a 100 meter drop, then thats cool ! - I envy you. I'd wish my units were like that. Furthermore I rescent the way Mot regard their customers as cash cows. The serial memory in the batteries (to get rid of aftermarket batteries), the proprietary DSC bus (to get rid of competition on carkits and data adaptors) - things that make peripherals for Mot phones cost twice as much as for any other phone.
The worst part is that even though the hardware platforms has gotten a whole lot better, the firmware is still lagging soooo much behind. Why does it take so long to implement even the simplest functions ? Time/date stamping of in- and outgoing calls. Just looking up numbers when sending an SMS took YEARS to implement !
